How does Khaled Hosseini present “suffering” in A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner?
I have to write a comparitive essay about the presentation of suffering in Khaled Husseini’s two books. The types of suffering presented in both novels, and the presentation of sacrifice and salvation. Any ideas or points you can help me with to start my essay?
Thanks.
The book really made me cry several times. The Kite Runner was amazing, and yes like the first answer, rape was one of the main reasons, but it wasn’t like how you’re phrasing it. Because Amir was suffering so much between telling everyone or just hiding away from his friend and shunting him to the side. Resulting in him never seeing him again, and leaving behind a son. And in the end, you find out that he was his brother, and everything they’ve been through. It just moved me so much, I was almost physically hurting. I’m not exactly sure what to tell you how to write your essay. Just try to read some reviews online or Google it.
