whats a person saying when they say sleeping odd hours can they be depressed?
There is lots of reasons someone could be sleeping odd hours and depression is one reason.
Others could be insomnia – can’t get to sleep, can’t stay asleep, can’t wake up.
Graduated insomnia – I have this, basically the amount of hours you need to sleep + the amount of hours you need to be awake to not add up to 24 hours. Your ‘day’ might be 26 hours so everyday your sleep/wake pattern alters by two hours.
Shift work – where they work at night times so they have to sleep during the day.
Anxiety – where your mind is filled with so much stressful stuff that you can’t fall asleep.
Pain – some people have illnesses and conditions which means they hurt a lot and cannot fall asleep.
Medicine – some medicines affect your sleeping
Other medical illnesses – There are a lot of illnesses/conditions that affect sleeping.
Children/pets/etc – That don’t let you sleep when you need to.
