how do i harvest the skull/bones of a dead rat? Ant hill not an option due to winter conditions.?

I have a rat corpse and wish to salvage the skull and or bones…i have all the time in the world but no ant hills in area due to season. Any suggestions?

Submerge it in Hydrogen peroxide.
