First Print

When did producers of art canvass in Europe first start to print thier makers mark or label on the backside?

I have a canvass with a block print of the makers mark that I am trying to date. I can’t read the print, it needs cleaning. The block print area is approx. 5″ x 4″. It contains printing and a logo.

I have been trying to find out for you. I didn’t know that and it is a mystery i want to solve..i will let you know!!…if i can when i find out!!!!…thanks for the question!
