what is the best dick francis book?

The Danger is my all-time fave. It was interesting learning about kidnapping and the company created to deal with it which apparently had basis in fact. I also liked the romance aspect.

The Edge is another fave. Again with the romance, although it was rather light.

Twice Shy. Although now laughably out of date, I loved the first main character, the older brother.

Longshot – it was interesting learning all those things about survival.

I liked Bolt for the he-mannishness of the main character.

Blood Sport – I liked the main character and his bleakness, and the romance.

I guess in summary, although pretty much all of his books have at least some hint of romance, some appeal to me more than others. I also seem to respond to the more “manly” of his characters.
