What do I need to put in a letter to my landlord telling him that I am moving?
Can any one help me write a letter to my landlord telling him that I will be moving April 30?
Or can you comment on the letter I’ve already written…Am I missing anything important?
Dear Mr. X,
Please regard this as notice of termination of my lease for apartment ABC at 123 Sesame Street. I am providing 3 months’ notice, beginning on February 1st. Therefore, my last day at 123 Sesame Street will be April 30th.

I should have also added that I’ve already told my landlord that I’m leaving in April. This letter is just a formality that he needs for his files.
This letter is all you need. Be certain you have the original sent and keep a copy. Also, you may want to send it certified mail. It is worth the cost and you will get a notice the letter was received.
